Starting and finishing in Melbourne is how most people do the Great Ocean Road drive in 1 day. From Melbourne to Torquay (the first town on the Great Ocean Road), it will take you about 1.5 hours. From Torquay to Warrnambool (the last town on the Great Ocean Road), expect to spend at least 4 hours of driving which doesn’t include stops.
Distance: 2km loop. Time: 30 minutes. Trailhead: Triplet Falls Carpark, 22km from Lavers Hill. One of the best walks in the Beech Forest area off the Great Ocean Road is Triplet Falls. While there are several waterfalls to explore in the area, this 2km loop walk to the wide cascade was one of my favourites.
The Great Ocean Road celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 and, although it faces many challenges, it remains one of the world’s great road trips.Starting in Victoria’s surf capital, Torquay, 105km southwest of Melbourne, it hugs the wild, beautiful coastline, often literally just a few metres from the Southern Ocean, for 245km to Allansford, near Warrnambool.
It’s only a 20-minute drive from Torquay and during the jump, you can enjoy amazing scenes over the famous Bells Beach and the beautiful coastal road that you’ll be driving along soon enough! PRICE: $249 to jump from 10,000ft, $349 to jump from 15,000ft. Book your skydive here. 2.
WHAT TO SEE AND DO ON THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD #1 TAKE A ROAD TRIP ALONG THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD. Taking a road trip along the Great Ocean Road kind of goes without saying; full of bends and epic views, actually making the drive is probably the greatest attraction of the whole Great Ocean road.
