I recently picked up a Focus for daily use and have a few questions about it, mostly servicing related. Car in question is a 55 plate 1.6 Zetec automatic. Its comfortable and quiet, but absolutely gutless.

I'll have to disagree with you on the coil power output. The coil produces more then enough spark for 500whp and I'm sure it can go much further. Motorcraft or Autolite platinum plugs are perfect for bolt-on Zetecs. Copper plugs are for higher power builds that run forced induction.

Amarok V6. 21 Jun 2004. #1. Over the past few days my engine has started making a ticking noise, which SEEMS to be coming from the cams or at least the top part of the engine. Ive been told it could be noisy fuel injectors (fuel rail sits right beside cams), air in the tappets or worn tappets.. Car is a '01 Focus 1800 Zetec with 39k on the clock..
